Introduction |
Two Fallacies - Two Questions |
One of the most common questions parents ask me is “How do I even get my child to eat the healthy foods?” This question functions off of two fallacious points of reason. Implicit in the question is the notion that 1) their child is not naturally drawn to healthy food and the belief that 2) the parent can not make their child eat what they tell them to eat. |
 |
In order to address this commonly asked question we must first respond to the before mentioned “implications” that I like to refer to as “myths”. These two myths regarding children’s mealtime shape the character of what appears on the |
surface to be a culinary and nutritional question: “How do I get my child to eat healthy foods?”; but in actuality it is a question about culture, socialization and discipline. |
| |
I will answer this question in two parts. The first will respond to the social / cultural component of the question. The second part of my answer will respond to the culinary / nutritional component to the question. |
